Prophetic prayers stormed heaven and shook the Philippines as JIL Directors, led by Spiritual Director Bro. Eddie Villanueva, exhorted JIL members to be unstoppable in fulfilling God’s mandate to the church during the Holy Spirit Breakthrough (HSB) event at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City on February 16.
Organized as JIL’s 2008 vision-casting event, HSB sought to empower JIL members in transposing the Holy Spirit’s dynamic move to the realm of reality. This move covers not just their individual lives, but even the church and the Philippines.
National Operations Director Rev. Alex Garcia stressed that JIL is sustaining an uninterrupted connection to the Lord’s move. “Last year, God revealed us the Breakthrough principle. This time, He will surprise our families and our church! We will not operate through carnal strength; we will operate by the Holy Spirit’s take-over of our lives,” he said.

“The JIL Church is stepping into the new move of the Lord. It doesn’t mean that He wasn’t moving before. But there will be emphasis on accomplishing God’s work in a prophetic flow. What we’re doing here will ultimately impact the Philippines,” said an upbeat Executive Secretary Sis. Edith Mendoza.
The program started with a triple-treat message delivered by Education Director Rev. Bobot Bernardo, Executive Director Sis. Dory Villanueva and Central Operations Director Rev. Joey Crisostomo. They enjoined JIL leaders and members to live a Spirit-driven life that is marked by brokenness which releases the Key to the anointing of Jesus. These morning sessions climaxed into an empowerment prayer that released the gift of healing to the church.

Sis. Edith opened the afternoon sessions with a call for JIL members to raise up their standard of commitment to God.
Sis. Dory released a prophetic prayer of revival afterwards. “Lord, we ask that the people would begin to realize that God is the only person they can trust in this nation,” Sis. Dory said.
Kristiyanong Kabataan para sa Bayan (KKB) Movement Chairman and CIBAC Party-list Rep. Joel Villanueva meanwhile drew inspiration from Nehemiah who, he said, took the burden of repairing Jerusalem’s walls upon himself. Rep. Joel challenged JIL members to take the burden of the Philippines upon themselves as God would use that burden to show his glory.
Philippines for Jesus Movement (PJM) National Vice Chairman and National Director Bishop Leo Alconga and Bishop Dan Balais (respectively) supported and joined the event. They also addressed the crowd, pointing out that the only force that can change the Philippines is the force that is backed and led by the Holy Spirit.
“When a church doesn’t move or function according to God’s direction, that church is accursed… Don’t expect the devil’s people to fulfill God’s prophetic destiny for the Philippines. The time has come for the church to not just pray but to move!” Bro. Eddie said.
