Seizing the Philippines prophetic destiny

From the beginning of creation, the Lord ordained that the affairs of the earth will be governed, measured, and determined by seasons of time. King Solomon said, “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1).
The most recent pronouncements declare that the nation of the Philippines is entering into a new season in God’s prophetic purpose for her. This is our “kairos” that we must seize, an opportunity that we must not allow to slip by us!
The Philippines for Jesus (PJM) held a prophetic conference last March 6-7, 2009 at the San Juan Arena in San Juan City where I was privileged to share the platform with Prophetess Cindy Jacobs. Moments before I went up the stage, the Holy Spirit impressed in my heart to count the number of years from the time the Portuguese explorer, Ferdinand Magellan, “discovered” the Philippines on March 16, 1521 to date. Immediately, a revelation exploded in my spirit. In two years time, it will be 490 years and we will complete the prophetic completion of seven sets of seventy years! As I was climbing up the stairs to the stage to address the more than 6,000 people in attendance, my knees were trembling of the sudden unveiling truth!
Significance of the seventy “sevens” weeks
We must understand that Israel was the Lord’s example to the nations on how He deals with other nations. Seventy years is a prophetic time when the Lord completes the cleansing of a nation. In Daniel 9:1-2, we could read that the prophet Daniel came to an understanding that Israel has completed the number of years that the Lord has decreed for her to suffer captivity as a punishment to her disobedience to the Lord.
It was at this time that the prophet Daniel set himself to fast and pray and make supplication to the Lord on behalf of his people. He fasted for twenty-one days. At the end of his fast, the Archangel Gabriel came to him.
Daniel 9:20-24. “While I was speaking and praying, confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel and making my request to the Lord my God for his holy hill. While I was still in prayer, Gabriel, the man I had seen in the earlier vision, came to me in swift flight about the time of the evening sacrifice. He instructed me, and said to me, “Daniel, I have now come to give you insight and understanding. As soon as you began to pray, an answer was given, which I have come to tell you, for you are highly esteemed. Therefore, consider the message and understand the vision. Seventy ‘sevens’ are decreed for your holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy.”
Archangel Gabriel revealed to Prophet Daniel that Israel was entering a new season of restoration after seven sets of seventy years (490 years) of God’s dealing with her sins (Job 23:10; Psalm 12:6). It was like Israel, through the judgments of God, has fully paid the consequences of her sins (Isaiah 40:1-2) and the time to comfort her has come (Psalm 102:13). It was a time when the Lord would show His mercy and grace upon Zion, a time when the Lord would comfort her and restore her prophetic calling and destiny.
The Philippines at the gate of 490 years
This 2009, we are at the very gate of 490 years! Through the nation’s “Chronos,” history of some 488 years, the Philippines is a recipient of two glorious birth rights: (1) the first Christian nation in Asia and, (2) the first democratic Republic in the region. Our people enjoyed blessings of our Christian heritage reaching its peak in the 1930’s and 1950’s.
By the latter part of the 1960’s which is approximately, the past forty years, the glory began to fade. From prosperity and progress unequalled in Asia, we declined precipitously to our terrible position now, being known as one of the most corrupt countries and suffering from terrible social maladies among the family of nations in the region. The nation did not grasp the destiny and purpose of her birthrights which is to be God’s banner, God’s witness and testimony to Asia and the rest of the world.
To bring us to such realization, the Lord brought us through the fire of affliction to purify us and to raise up a new generation of people who, through sufferings, will learn to obey God and walk in His righteousness.
The election in 2010 is not going to be just an ordinary election. It is one that is going to open the gate of the 490th year (2011) that will usher in the new season of God for our beloved land and people!
Isaiah 26:9 says, “My soul yearns for you in the night; in the morning my spirit longs for you. When your judgments come upon the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness.”
Job 23:10 states, “But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.”
Psalm 12:6 affirms, “And the words of the Lord are flawless, like silver refined in a furnace of clay, purified seven times.”
Arise and seize our destiny: Let us pray and take action!
Through the 488 years since we were “discovered” and our existence formally made known to the world, and 488 years since the first cross was planted on our shores, the Lord has willed that this generation will give birth and witness the completion of God’s dealing with the sins of our people. The 490th year is coming! The election in 2010 is not going to be just an ordinary election. It is one that is going to open the gate of the 490th year (2011) that will usher in the new season of God for our beloved land and people!
Daniel 2:21 declares, “He changes times and seasons; he sets up kings and deposes them; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.”
We are a people tasked by the Lord to seize our nation’s prophetic destiny! Let us pray, fast, and take action!
Procalamation Daniel 9:24
PD 9:24 is the major component of the Two – Year National Fast, an initiative enlisting 10,000 fasting units in the 1,696 cities, provinces, and municipalities around the nation to pray and intercede for the deliverance of the nation in accordance to Daniel 9:24.
PD 9:24 is a prophetic declaration that trumpets and ushers the beginning of the “New Transformed Philippines,” coinciding with the commemoration of the 490th year of Spanish colonization and entrance to Christianity. Thus, redeeming God’s vision for the Philippines spoken to King Philip of Spain—to become a truly Christian nation and fulfil her destiny to be a “a launching pad of missionaries to the world,” a “light” to Asia and its “food basket”, a “sheep nation”, and other more.” This will result to the dedication of the renewed body of believers who will reverently bow down to the Cross, not as subservient and colonized Filipinos, but as a people with God-renewed hearts and purposes.
