No Regrets
MEMORY VERSE:
“At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head.
Then he fell to the ground in worship and said:
‘Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart.
The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away;
may the name of the Lord be praised.’”
Job 1: 20-21
INTRODUCTION
“She is the ONE,” he assured me. “But how do you know? What makes you so sure?” I asked. “Because… because… I just do! I’m in love and I won’t regret it!” Is there really no regret in love?
I. Love starts with a fall and ends with a decision.
o Love starts with attraction:
Note: Reminisce: attraction to your father’s fortitude, attraction to your
mother’s gentleness, attraction to your sibling’s antics, attraction to your
spouse’s smile, attraction to your baby’s gurgling sounds, etc.
o Love begins and ends with a decision
Note: You decided to love.
II. Love keeps on loving.
o Love fixates on memories. (past)
o Love fixates on making memories. (present and future)
III. Love regrets nothing.
o Love appreciates the turbulent times.
o Love appreciates the joyful times.
CONCLUSION
We have gone a long way from your laughable crushes and assurances to our friends that we’re sure that we are “in love.” But you still ARE in love… because looking back and looking forward… we realize that we have no regrets.
REFLECTION: Let us ask ourselves the following questions:
o What attracted God to me?
— There is surely something! What is it?
o Why did He decide to love me?
o When were the times His love for me was tested?
— Why did he decide to go on loving me?
o Has He stopped loving me?
— Why not? What are my proofs?
o He doesn’t regret loving me… and won’t ever regret loving me…
why?
o What attracted me to my loved ones?
— Can I still recall them? What are they?
o Why did I decide to love them?
o When were the times when my love for each of them was tested?
— Why did I decide to go on loving them?
o Have I stopped loving them?
— Why not? What are my proofs?
o I don’t regret loving them… and won’t ever regret loving them…

Father God, thank You for deciding to love me and for keeping on loving me. I will never really be worthy of Your love and yet, no matter how many times I have sorely tried Your love, you won’t let me go… So Lord… in thankfulness for Your love, help me to appreciate the love You have taught me, are teaching me and will continue to teach me. I am in love and I have no regrets. Thank You. Amen.

Whenever I feel that I don’t know how to love, I will look back and see that I have. Whenever I feel that I can’t love, I will look up and see how.
