Bro. Eddie leads JIL in praying for the country and its government officials.

Ushering an era of new beginnings for the Jesus Is Lord (JIL) Church Worldwide and the country, JIL Spiritual Director Bro. Eddie Villanueva leads a passionate prayer for the Philippines. But before the prayer, he delivered a three-point message addressed to the Filipinos, the country’s highest officials, and to the JIL people.

Addressing another enthusiastic overflow crowd on the 38th anniversary thanksgiving celebration of the JIL Church at the Rizal Park, Bro. Eddie said that his first message was to the Filipino people, imploring them to pray for all government leaders and cited the Apostle Paul’s exhortation in 2 Timothy: 1-5.

“I urge that supplications, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life,”

The JIL Spiritual Director also recalled 2 Chronicles 7:14, reminding them once again of that great prayer of intercession that “If my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Bro. Eddie also had a message for the country’s government leaders, led by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, to remind them of their accountability to both God and the people who voted for them.

Bro. Eddie once again quoted the Bible, citing Daniel 2:21:“He changes times and seasons; He deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.”

“Our government officials, including President Duterte, should continue to realize that their authority emanates from the people, based on our Constitution,” Bro. Eddie stressed. “He must also know that based on Daniel 2:21, his authority ultimately comes from God.”

He disclosed that last April 30, 10 days before the May elections, he prayed for the then Davao City mayor, asking him to recognize Jesus as his Lord and Savior.

“The former Davao City mayor then told me that he was willing to sacrifice his life and honor for the good of our country.”

Bro. Eddie, together with Sen. Joel Villanueva and the JIL pastors, prayed for the national government represented by Sen. Allan Peter Cayetano.

“Let your kingly anointing continue to flow mightily on our beloved President Rodrigo Duterte,” he prayed.

Cayetano earlier revealed that President Duterte, who arrived just today from an official visit to Japan, had personally texted him to greet the JIL Church Worldwide on its 38th anniversary.

The senator also read a Senate resolution he co-authored with Senator Sonny Angara and Senator J.V. Ejercito that recognized the church that now has 55 chapters worldwide, and growing.

Last but not the least, Bro. Eddie’s final message before he prayed for the country was addressed to the JIL people, encouraging them as he said that what the church had accomplished in the last 38 years “will be dwarfed by what God will accomplish in the next 10 years.”

“This is what the Lord has laid upon my heart in my two months of apostolic and missionary trip aboard. So let the JIL people get ready!”
