But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
That we are one in Christ is a gift founded on this: Christ’s love. Because had He not—out of love—come down from heaven to earth, become like us, shed His blood, and sacrificed His very life for wicked and wretched people such as us, we would not have any way to be reconciled to the Father. We would not be saved. We would not be children of God.
So let us celebrate not just our being one in Christ but, also, its reason. Let us celebrate Christ’s love for us. Let us share it to the world. As we do, more people would discover His love and, also, be one in Christ.
