JIL marks 43rd anniversary as year of “God’s Triumphant Hope”

News

AMID the COVID-19 pandemic, the Jesus Is Lord Church Worldwide celebrates its 43rd founding anniversary with another unforgettable celebration online and onsite this Saturday, October 30.

Led by President and Spiritual Director Bro. Eddie Villanueva, the JIL family from all parts of the world gathers once again in rejoicing and extolling God’s great goodness and faithfulness in allowing the ministry to not just survive but thrive even during these particularly trying times.

Indeed, with the theme “God’s Triumphant Hope,” the JIL community of believers are encouraged to actively participate in the celebration, tapping into their social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram while engaging and inviting others to join them in this memorable occasion.

“With us is the same God who carried us through the past 43 years. He is the same God who multiplied 15 students (in the first Bible study conducted by Bro. Eddie at PUP) into thousands of chapters around the world,” stressed Rev. Bobot Bernardo, Executive Director, in addressing the participants of the JIL Pastors’ Congress.

The JIL pastors and leaders were challenged to continue in their mandate of fulfilling the JIL’s mission “to bring all peoples to the kingdom of the living God regardless of race, status, belief and religious affiliations through the saving, healing, delivering, and transforming power of the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Bro. Eddie also exhorted them to “to boldly preach the Gospel in and out of season, with or without the pandemic.”

For nearly 20 months now, the JIL Church – from pastors, workers to members – has heeded this urgent call. They are driven by compassion in coming up with creative and innovative ways in drawing more people to the awareness of their need in knowing Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord, more so now than ever.

They have learned to navigate the Internet, conducting regular virtual gatherings to provide Scriptural and spiritual nourishment, engagement, and practical involvement for JIL members, who are often forced to stay at home, as the virus crisis lingers.

The JIL 43rd anniversary Tiktok Dance Challenge? Yup, they have it.

By the grace of God, numerous JIL local churches in the country and abroad have used several virtual platforms as vehicles for the gospel while drawing hope, inspiration, strength, and comfort from each other’s members.

There have been numerous tales on how JIL brothers and sisters got to know each other closer as they prayed for each other’s needs while encouraging their relatives and friends to join them in their respective fellowships.

As they yearn to return for actual regular worship services, nonetheless, it cannot be denied that numerous JIL members, for God’s glory, have become shining beacons of “God’s Triumphant Hope” amid the bleak global landscape.

This is what moves the JIL Church Worldwide to celebrate with great joy, gladness, and gratitude to the Almighty God, who has preserved, protected, and propagated the ministry for the past 43 dynamic years.
